Stainless Steel Mezzanine Stair
Stone House Residence
Custom stainless steel staircase and railing fabricated for the upper level of the same residence, providing access to the library mezzanine.
The Story
The design follows the same architectural language as the main staircase, ensuring visual continuity throughout the home.
Unlike the primary staircase, this version features a single thick stainless steel stringer plate rather than a sandwich construction. The heavier plate provides the necessary structural strength while maintaining the clean, minimal appearance of the design.
The stair is paired with glass treads and a stainless steel railing with horizontal bars, preserving the light and contemporary aesthetic while adapting to a different curved geometry suited to the mezzanine space.
This secondary staircase continues the contrast between modern stainless steel construction and the traditional stone interior, reinforcing the dialogue between contemporary design and the historic character of the house.
